TELECOMMUNICATIONS TRAINEESHIPS...
Traineeships open the door to a career in the Telecommunications Industry. Traineeships provide a means of gaining the skills, knowledge and experience to enter a career in the ever-growing telecommunications industry.
You don’t have to be “in your teens”. You don’t have to be male as women are increasingly finding telecommunications a worthwhile and rewarding career choice too.
We also have trainees in their twenties, thirties and older.
You may have just left school and are looking for a career in telecommunications or you may be in-between jobs or looking to change your trade, in these cases, a traineeship may be the answer for you.
Currently, Ramsden Telecommunications Training is responsible for the training and competency assessment of several hundred telecommunications trainees for a national employer in conjunction with a national carrier as well as for trainees for smaller telecommunications companies who install telecommunications including data networking and security cables and equipment in their clients’ premises.
Enquiries for telecommunications traineeships with a national employer, Excelior, can be made by clicking here.
The Traineeship Contract
Traineeships involve a signed contract between three parties:
These Centres can also answer any questions you have about traineeships. To locate the Australian Apprenticeship Centre closest to you, go the web site: www.newapprenticeships.gov.au and use the 'search for an Australian Apprenticeship Centre' facility on that page.
Certificate Courses and off the job Training
Normally, trainees start at Certificate II in Telecommunications level but some trainees have started at Certificate III in Telecommunications level. This will depend on your past experience and the work experience which the employee can guarantee you.
The RTO such as Ramsden Telecommunications Training provides the trainee with the off-the-job training associated with the Certificate program chosen and assesses the trainee for competence at various stages in the training program.
On the job Experience
Employers release their trainees to attend the required off-job training with their nominated RTO and also monitor the trainees on-the-job work experience, the record of which is used by the RTO to determine when the trainee is competent and can be issued with the national qualification associated with that course of training.
Prerequisites:
Government Training and other subsidies are generally available to the employer to encourage the taking on of trainees. In some cases the employer may have to contribute partly to the training costs but the employer may also gain from payroll tax exemption.
