ACMA Cabler Registration Courses...

Our cabler registration courses meet the requirements of the Australian Communications & Media Authority (ACMA) for Registration and also deliver competencies which contribute to your Certificate II in Telecommunications, or Certificate II in Telecommunications Cabling, or Certificate III in Telecommunications which are nationally recognised qualifications.

Subsidies: These may be available in your state to reduce the costs of your training if you work in the building and construction industry. Please contact us for more details.

  ACMA Open Registration Course

The ACMA Open Registration Course enables those with customer premises cabling experience, OH&S and knowledge of electrical principles to qualify for the ACMA Open Registration (previously Austel Licence). It also enables you to legally install and maintain telephone/data/security/fire protection cabling in all types of customers' premises.

The course covers the mandatory cabler knowledge and practical skills under The Telecommunications Act and The Wiring Rules (AS/ACIF S009) together with requisite knowledge of basic telephony and switching systems overview.

ICTTC137B– Competency Certificate for Open Registration.

  ACMA Restricted Registration Course

The ACMA Restricted Registration Course enables those with a knowledge of basic electrical principles and cabling experience to qualify for the ACMA Restricted Registration. It also enables you to legally install and maintain telephone/data/security cabling BUT ONLY in premises without a distributor (MDF/BD) and where the reticulated electrical power in the premises does not exceed 240 V AC single-phase or 415 V AC three-phase.

This registration is meant for those installing cabling and sockets in homes and small shops where lead in cables are terminated on sockets or an NTD (Network terminating device).

ICTTC136B–Competency Certificate for Restricted Registration.

  ACMA Restricted Registration to Open Registration Course

The ACMA Restricted Registration to Open Registration Course is an 'Update Course' and enables participants to cover the skills and knowledge to upgrade a person with restricted licence to qualify for the ICTTC137B Open Registration competency certificate.

The course includes The Wiring Rules ( AS/ACIF S009), basic telephony and switching systems overview, MDF/BD installation & jumpering and associated records, building cabling design. It also iIncludes a mandatory exam on AS/ACIF S009:2006.

ICTTC137B Open Registration competency certificate.
